Brief History of PNG Kickboxing
Papua New Guinea Kickboxing Association(PNGKBA) was first established in 1997 by PNG martial arts champion Mr. Stanley Nandex with other member Uke Stanley Bole, Simon and Student member of Stanley Nandex.

Stanley first approach the WKA head office in England about starting up the Kickboxing Association in Papua New Guinea. The response for his request was successful.

Most of the assistance came from the Head Office at Europe as well as people like Adam Watt “current world champ, Paul Grima and other Kickboxing trainers in Thailand and USA.

Kickboxing was more recognized in 1998 after Stanley Nandex success in Kickboxing. Today, the Kickboxing clubs are nation wide recognised and we have our schools in Port Port Moresby, Lae, Chimbu, Madang, Wau, Mendi, Erave and Goroka. We are still making plans to open some more new schools around the country. Currently, we have around 600 members around the nation attending the school and we intend to making it a nation wide sport and bring it up into international level of competition.
